Spooky DIY Halloween Decorations

It's time to bring out the spooky decorations and get ready for Halloween! But if you're like most people, you don't have a lot of money to spend on store-bought decorations. That's why we've put together a list of spooky DIY Halloween decorations that you can make on a budget.

Bush Eyes

Looking for a spooky, yet easy and cheap, Halloween decoration? Bush eyes are perfect! All you need are two plastic pumpkin buckets (available at most stores for just $1), aluminum foil, white spray paint, black paint, and red paint.

To make bush eyes, first flip over the plastic pumpkin buckets and cover the middle part that sticks out with aluminum foil. Tape the edges. Then, spray paint the buckets white.

Next, remove the aluminum foil and use it to trace around a bowl or jar lid to create a black circle in the center of each bucket. Finally, paint creepy red veins emanating from the black circles.

Your bush eyes are now complete! Place them in your bushes or trees for a spooky Halloween decoration that is sure to impress your guests.

Glowing Mummy Hands

A mummy's hand is the perfect decoration for a spooky Halloween party. All you need is some masking tape, a drinking straw, scissors, and a glow stick or mini-lights with batteries.

To make a glowing mummy hand, start by wrapping the masking tape around your wrist and palm, sticky side out. Wrap all the way to your fingers, then do it again with the sticky side down. Once your entire hand is covered (twice), take the scissors and run them up the straw to your palm. Be gentle and take your time!

Pinch the tips of the tape at your fingers and wiggle the tape shell off of your hand. Tape this closed again. Turn on your glow stick or battery-operated lights and place them inside of the tape hand. Your spooky mummy hand is now ready to scare all your party guests!

Jack O'Lantern Archway

Halloween isn't complete without some spooky decorations! If you're looking for a fun DIY project to add some Halloween flair to your home, try making a Jack O'Lantern archway.

All you'll need are 30 plastic pumpkin buckets, (2) 10'x1/2" PVC pipes, (1) 1/2" PVC coupler, (2) 4'x1/2" rebars, a drill, 7/8" paddle bit, rubber mallet, and all purpose cement (for PVC).

First, use the paddle bit to drill a hole in the bottom of each pumpkin bucket. Next, connect the rebar and PVC pipes together using the cement and rubber mallet. Then, slide the pumpkins onto the pipes until they are all on the archway. Cut off any excess pipe with a hacksaw and you're done!
