1. Spooky Spider Web Lanterns
Looking for a spooky and fun Halloween craft to do at home? Why not try your hand at making a DIY Spider Lantern! This craft is easy to make and only requires a few supplies that you likely already have around the house. Plus, it's a great way to add some extra Halloween decor to your home.
To make your own DIY Spider Lantern, you will need:
- A plastic jar
- Spider web or cotton
- Small toy spiders
- Purple string light
Start by wrapping the string light around the battery pack on the end. Then, open up the jar and stuff a small handful of fake spider web into the bottom, along with a spider toy or two. Turn on the string light and insert it into the jar.
Next, fill in the space around the light with more spider web and spiders. Pack it well with web and cover up the string light so that there aren’t any parts of it showing. When you’re done filling the jar with web and spiders, put the lid of the jar back on.
Use your Spider Lantern in a dark place to see the webbing glow. This is a great craft to do with kids, and it's sure to add some extra spookiness to your home this Halloween!
2. Mummy Mason Jars
Mummies are a popular Halloween decoration, and they can be made easily and cheaply at home with some supplies from the craft store. You'll need a clear glass jar, white gauze bandages, scissors, craft glue or a hot glue gun, googly eyes, and black craft paper.
To make your mummy jar, start by wrapping the gauze around the jar, securing it with glue as you go. Wrap tightly and evenly, making sure not to leave any gaps. When you reach the top of the jar, cut off the bandage and glue the end down.
Next, attach the googly eyes and mouth. You can use black paper, foam, or felt for the mouth. Allow everything to dry, then place a candle or battery-powered tea light inside the jar and enjoy!
